Fun Idea #1: Virtual Field Trip to Ireland for St. Patrick’s Day
Take your students to Ireland to learn all about the history behind the St. Patrick’s Day holiday and the legend of leprechauns. Students will also learn about Ireland and key components of Irish culture such as music, dance, and food. They won’t even realize they are practicing key skills such as answering questions, inferencing, contrasting, and fiction story writing. The primary version, created for grades K-2, focuses on similar topics but with shorter and simpler texts, stories, and activities.

St. Patrick’s Day Reading Escape Room
The world looks a little more green for Saint Patrick’s Day, and if you’re not wearing a bit of green yourself, you may be in a bit of trouble! The best way to avoid a pinch: make like a leprechaun and fill your closet with green garments! I’ll show ya how.
Students will complete four scaffolded reading comprehension challenges with multiple-choice questions.
St. Patrick’s Day Math Review Escape Room
Students navigate their way out of a dungeon in Blarney Castle where they have been trapped for stealing Lucky the Leprechaun’s gold coins. To escape, students complete four unique math standards-based challenges. The challenges require students to practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and telling time. Students add their answers to the St. Patrick’s Day Magical Decoding Tool to help them unlock the secret codes and complete each challenge. Students earn items used for each step on their way out of the castle.
Three Engaging Formats
