It’s that time of year again – when the state testing period comes around and students’ nerves start to fray. If you’re looking for ways to support your students during this difficult time, here are five tips to encourage your students during standardized testing.
Have students in younger grades encourage those involved in state testing. Younger grades can adopt a classroom or they can make creative posters and cards showing support. It’ll be like a mini-motivational squad cheering them on!
Help them stay focused and get into the testing groove by having fun slogans like “You’re a real M&M-azing student” or “It’s CRUNCH time, do your best!” It’ll be sure to make even the toughest exams feel more manageable.
Give your students the energy boost they need by taking stretch breaks throughout their testing sessions. For those more antsy learners, attach some stretch bands to their desks so they can fidget and move while still staying focused on the task at hand.
After a hard day of testing, give your students the opportunity to destress with some celebratory fun and games!
