Students follow instructions to work within a budget, calculate income from registrations, subtract expenses, review soccer practice statistics, create a line plot, and more. Additional “challenge activities” engage students and develop further understanding of the concepts and skills.

  • 3.OA.A.2 Interpret whole number quotients.
  • 3.OA.A.3 Use multiplication and division within 100 to solve word problems in situations involving equal groups, arrays, and measurement, quantities.

  • 3.NBT.A.2 Fluently add and subtract within 1000 using strategies and algorithms based on properties of operations and/or the relationship between add/sub.
  • 3.NBT.A.3 Multiply 1-digit numbers by multiples of 10 in the range 10-90 using strategies based on place value and properties.

⭐ Ice Cream Truck Mania is a project based learning unit based all around operating the ice cream supply, schedule, and transactions for an ice cream truck. Students follow instructions keep track of their inventory, order new treats, manage the truck stop schedule, monitor money transactions, and analyze the daily profits of the truck. Additional “challenge activities” engage students and develop further understanding of the concepts and skills.
