My students LOVE doing escape rooms or puzzle type activities. They get so excited when I tell them we will be completing one, and they get so wrapped up in solving the mystery, they don’t even realize they’re learning! Thanks for another great resource to add to my collection!

So MagiCore may be my favorite character ever. While the products tend to be a bit pricer than other options, she deserves every penny for all the hard work she puts into her products. I love her escape rooms because they are engaging topics, looks incredibly beautiful and colorful, aligned to the standards, and has a digital version too. This is just a very fun way for students to learn. I love this escape room and own many others. If you are on the fence, buy one to see just how great they are! <3

I used this escape room as an end of the year review activity for my fifth graders. I put them in groups and had them work together to complete it. My students were super engaged and focused on completing this escape room! They enjoyed the stories (many of my students had an interest in reading some Beverly Cleary books after reading that passage!), the videos, the new challenges, and working together with their peers. I had quite a few students come up to me and say “That was so fun!” at the end of the lesson. I loved this activity so much and I plan on using it as a fun review for my sixth graders in the beginning of this next school year!

I used this in my google classroom as a no prep activity, and it worked like a dream. It allowed for slower students to work at their own pace, and vice versa. It gave students to opportunity to read for themselves, or for my students who are not strong readers, or to have the passages read. There was not an opportunity for my students to race through, just guessing, because every wrong answer sent you back to read the passage again. It was self-correcting and it took several days for most of my students to finish. I love it and I just ordered a math-based web quest that performs much the same way. I wish all my Resource room materials were like this.
jonathan –

My students enjoyed this reading activity. Great variety of formats – poem, recipe, play, fiction, nonfiction. They knew they answered a question incorrectly when the sentence didn’t make sense. As a reading specialist with small groups, my students worked with a partner.
