201 reviews for Nonfiction Text Features Reading Escape Room & Webscape – 4th 5th Grade Passages

  1. Cassandra Leigh –

I used this with one of my reading groups. They loved it! They only did one of the challenges each day, so they finished in a week. Each morning they came in saying, “We get to do the next one after recess!” They found a corner of the classroom and read through the passages and collaborated on the answers. When they had an incorrect response, they went back and sifted through the reading passages again. This was a fun way to increase engagement.

My students and I LOVED this escape room! It was just like a video game and kept them engaged the entire time. I used this with 4th graders for NonFiction STAAR prep. They were able to get through the escape room with only a little help. It was just the right amount of rigor. The students loved competing against each other. I did walk around and try to make sure some of the slower groups had help to make sure everyone finished close to the same time. Thank you for this amazing resource!

I got this for a celebration party and my kids really enjoyed it! Best of all they were able to do it all on the computer independently and it was super engaging for my 5-8 class including my G&T student. We started out whole group and then I was able to work small group while the others worked independently on their chromebooks. They helped each other and best of all it reviewed skills we were working on in the classroom in a fun and engaging manner.
