I’m using this with my 2nd grade daughter in a homeschool setting. She is highly motivated and engaged by this unit. It’s the perfect time of year to study this. I plan to show the movie Coco at the end of the unit of study. I was able to get Dia de los Muertos make-up kit at Michael’s for half off so that she can try it herself. All-in-all a few fun unit of study that incorporates a lot of the standards and skills I need to teach. Tech alert- I tried to exchange the youtube linked videos to a safe-you-tube video (cropped and edited so that ads don’t show up), but I wasn’t able to do that. I’m not sure if I just don’t know how or if it’s not possible when editing the google slides for this project. I wanted to do this to minimize distractions when she accesses the videos. It’s quite possible I just don’t know how.

Lots of outside links/videos with ads; vocabulary pronunciation takes you to another website where words need to be reclicked; fun theme, but be wary.
