The Lexile levels are not even at a second grade level. I am disappointed as I spent a lot of money on this. This is geared more toward third grade reading levels.

These texts are all in the text complexity in the 2nd and 3rd grade CCSS Text Complexity bands. The text complexity range is the same for both 2nd and 3rd grade. I was a second grade teacher and created all of these products for my own students in my inclusion classroom. The higher leveled texts are challenging for second graders, but they are meant to be. I found with proper instruction, scaffolding, support, and modeling, many of my below level and special needs students were successful with these passages. For my students that were significantly below level, I used the first grade passages.

THIS.IS.PERFECT! I cannot wait to continue to read through all of these materials! We are wrapping up the last 9 weeks of school, and will revisit most of these standards just as a review, but I am already thinking about how wonderful all of this will be for next year. I love that there are differentiated stories, for different level learners. I love that the fonts and graphics are age appropriate. There is nothing I would change.
